Planning & Info.

Below you will find some key information in preparation for your travel to Tanzania and your safari. You're your safari is booked and prior to your arrival, you will receive a detailed information package.

Visa & Passport Regulations.

Tourist visas are required for most nationalities to enter Tanzania and can be obtained by any of the below 3 methods.

  • Online: The most efficient and quickest method is to apply online at www.immigration.go.tz Embassy/Consulate: You can apply for your visa at the Tanzanian embassy/consulate in your country.
  • Upon arrival in Tanzania: Visas can be obtained upon arrival in Dar es Salaam at the airport.
  • A completed landing form (provided on the counter located by passport control) along with the visa fee in cash ($100 USD - US citizens & $50 USD - non-US citizens) must be submitted at the passport control. It is suggested that you pre-organize your visa to avoid wait times and queues upon arrival.
Dipping & Packing / Exporting Trophies.

Your trophies will be prepared and handled very delicately and with precision by our very experienced skinners in the camp to ensure perfect condition. Exclusive Expedition Ltd. will organize the dipping & packing and export of your trophies out of the country to the desired taxidermy of your choice. We are very experienced in ensuring the proper export documents are in place for hassle-free export.

Immunization & Medication.

We suggest you consult with your doctor to determine if there are any precautions or immunizations you should take in advance of your travel to Tanzania. Tanzania is a Malaria zone so malaria medication is highly suggested. Check if any Vaccination rules apply when traveling back to your home country.

Currency.

The currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian shilling. USD is also widely accepted in Tanzania, sometimes even preferred over local currency. However, US banknotes that were issued before 2006 are not accepted. Euros are acceptable but not preferred over USD. Paying with dollars is possible in all better establishments in Tanzania. For local shopping and smaller expenses, like shopping on markets and local restaurants, bus tickets and Tanzanian shillings are a must to have in your wallet.

Power voltage.

In Tanzania the power plugs and sockets are of type D & G. The standard voltage is 230 V.
